So yes, there is not much grass around but it is one of my favorite places in Paris to meet my friends and share our traditionnal « apero » by the end of the day : wine, cheese and bread!

My tips? Perfect for the warm summer evenings to enjoy the coolness of the Seine!

Where? Voie Georges Pompidou, 75004 Paris

2° The "Buttes Chaumont" park - the greenest one

This enigmatic park in the heart of northeastern Paris is a real lung. Here you can take a nap in the sun, lying on the lawn.

My tips? Not tired? You can party in one of the bars in the park like Ir osa bonheur…

Where? 1 Rue Botzaris, 75019 Paris

3° "La Coulée Verte" - the most unexpected

la coulee verte de paris

One of the 12th district’s best-kept secrets, appreciated by its inhabitants and unknown by most of the Parisians, it’s nevertheless the first viaduct in the world to have been rehabilitated into a green space! And it’s a success, more than 4km of planted promenade between bamboos and rosebushes. If you feel like taking a break in the sun, you can easily reach the « Jardin de Reuilly – Paul Pernin » located 15 Rue Albinoni, 75012 Paris, the « Coulée Verte » goes over, you can’t miss it.

My tips? If you love architecture, the walk offers a unique view of the roofs of the surrounding Parisian buildings.

Where? 1 Coulée verte René-Dumont, 75012 Paris

4° The lawn of the Arsenal port - the most confidential

port de larsenal paris

The only marina located in the heart of the city, its park is open from 8am to 8pm (sometimes 10pm in summer). Small stretches of grass allow you to take a rest with a view of the boats and the July column of the Bastille square… « What? Are we in Paris now?«

My tips? One of my favorite places in Paris, the lawns bordering the Arsenal basin are a little paradise of tranquility 5 minutes from the roaring Place de la Bastille. The place deserves to be known, since the rehabilitation of the Bastille square will put it more in the spotlight, allowing walkers to access it more easily (or simply to learn about it!).

Where? Boulevard Bourdon – Boulevard de la Bastille – 75004 – 75012 Paris

5° The gardens of the "Palais Royal" - the most iconic

It’s its history which pushes me to include the gardens of the « Palais Royal » in this top 5. Today, this is an intimate place where Parisians come to read a book or to share a lunch with their coworkers. Few children and even fewer aperitifs over here, it’s a really peaceful place in the heart of Paris, just a few minutes from the Louvre and the Rue de Rivoli.

My tips? Today a haven of peace, it’s however for this exact opposite that the Palais Royal was the centre of Paris at the end of the 18th century / beginning of the 19th century.
